FULL TERM!!

Thanksgiving weekend marked Adelaide making it to full term. She can come at any time now. Everything is ready, the Christmas tree is up, the bag is packed, and now we are just waiting for her to get here!!

35 weeks

Baby is no longer breech!! She figured it out and is now head down ready to meet the world. I decided to pack our hospital bag this weekend just in case. Her room is all done, the new kitchen sink for bath time is in, and now all we do is wait for her to show up. Hopefully she will not make us wait until her due date! I'll post a new picture soon.

Here is a profile picture of our girl. As you can see she obviously takes after her mother in the lip category.



At this point our little lady is breech. She still has plenty of time to turn, but we have to also accept that she might not. Statistics say 80% of babies are head down by 32 weeks. If she doesn't, we will try an external version. This is when the doctor manually turns her to the head down position by guiding her around the uterus. There is a 40-70% success rate. If that does not work we will have to schedule a c-section. Not my favorite idea to say the least. So, at this point all we can do is wait and hope she flips on her own!

30 weeks

Baby Shower

On September 25, 2010 baby was showered! Grandma Dawn, Aunt Christi, and "Auntie Alyssa" hosted. It was really great. Baby got all kinds of goodies. She is a very lucky baby to have so many people that care about her already.

3rd Trimester!

We have finally made it to the last trimester. Little Adelaide could be here in any time after November 27 according to my pregnancy books when she will be considered full term!

I can tell that she is growing a lot. I am very hungry every two hours or so, but don't feel like I have all that much more space for food and her. She likes to move around after I eat and in the middle of the night when I am trying to sleep. She will be "showered" this weekend. I cannot wait to see the little things she will get. I have grown more attached to my belly as it gets bigger and I feel her move more.

Only 99 days remain!!! (26 weeks)

We have made it to double digits. Baby Addie is only 99 days away from her due date, although I hope she comes early. This is the final week of our second trimester. I have been taking prenatal yoga once a week, and really enjoy being in the same room as a bunch of other pregnant women. Baby does not like some of the poses that we get into and gets kicking to let me know. With everyday that passes it becomes harder and harder to wait!

First nursery DIY

24 Weeks

For our three year anniversary Mike and I drove to Vancouver, BC and explored. Because I cannot enjoy a nice wine, I instead ate my way through Canada. Baby Addie has not let up on the sweet tooth she has created in me. We enjoyed ice cream, pastries, cupcakes and pie. Here is a photo from our last day and 24 weeks along. I cannot believe that how close we are to her being here. Time has really flown by. Lets hope it continues too!

First Nursery Project

Over the weekend Mike and I painted the nursery a very pale pink. Gillian came over Sunday morning and we put her crib together. It goes perfectly with my Shabby Chic theme! She is going to have a very floral girly room.

20 weeks and it's a GIRL!!!

Here are some new photos of little Adelaide Louise Gits! She was 12oz and her little feet are 3cm long. She was wiggling all around and sucking her thumb. She might be a lefty! I couldn't wait until August 2nd, so they got us in a few days early. We will still see the doctor on Monday to make sure that everything is going well and find out if we will keep the same due date. I cannot wait to meet her, and dress her in little girly clothes. We are beyond excited!

Movement (19 week pic)

Over the weekend I started to be able to feel the baby move on the outside! Everyday now there are little feet or hands poking me from inside. It's a really amazing feeling but very strange at the same time. This week marks our 7 day countdown until we find out the sex. Our appointment is set for 8:50am on 8/2/10. Hopefully baby is not modest and lets us get a peek. The waiting has become very hard on both of us!

15 Weeks

I am posting my first "belly" photo, because it has finally started to grow. Excuse the setting. I was in the work bathroom when I realized that my normal flat morning tummy was no longer happening, and the afternoon bloat had turned into an all day thing.

Things are still going very well. I am feeling fine, and have a good amount of energy for the most part. We have not really done anything to get ready yet. I think we both want to wait till the we find out the sex on August 2nd. I am sure once we know we will be very active in purchasing baby items.

12 week appointment

Everything went well. Our doctor found the heartbeat right away, and it was amazing how fast it was beating. She estimated 170 bpm. We will not get to see the bean again till 20 weeks. We will also find out the sex at this appointment. That's it for now! Hi Jake!

My first baby dream....

and I was not the best mommy! I had a little baby boy at the hospital, but left him to go to a party only a few hours after he was born. The party was great, lots of random people from my life were there. No one thought it was weird that I was out right after giving birth. The next morning I went back to the hospital to pick up our new little boy, but the nurses wouldn't let me take him home. They said that he needed to see the doctor, and that once he did that they would drop him off at our house. I was fine with this baby delivery service, but wanted one of them to show me how to wrap him up and breastfeed. Apparently I hadn't done this before going out to party! Pretty interesting first dream about the baby. I think I might be watching too much 16 and Pregnant!!!

So far this first trimester has been okay. I am tired a lot (I enjoyed a 6:45 bed time on Tuesday), and need to make sure that I eat often. I have a HUGE sweet tooth, and had Mike go get me some cinnamon rolls last night because I have been thinking about them for weeks. Hopefully summer weather will help me stay some what in shape so I don't gain 50lbs! Our next appointment is June 7th when we will be 12 weeks and 2 days along. I am really looking forward to hearing the heartbeat on the Doppler and know that everything is good with our bean :-)

Garden

Mike and I planted our 2nd garden over the weekend. This year we will be growing 4 kinds of tomatoes, green and yellow cucumbers, an herb garden, peppers, broccoli, carrots, radishes, lettuce, and an artichoke plant for looks. I am hoping that pregnancy agrees with tomatoes. Last year I think we ate at least 1 a day! Hopefully the chickens will start laying eggs soon so we can really eat like farmers.

Baby's First Photo

Mike and I went to our first appointment yesterday, and after waiting for an hour and a half we got to see the little bean! It's heart was beating away and our doctor was great. Poor Mikey had to sit through a "girl" visit, but I think it's good prep for the real deal.
