1/2 Marathons and Roseola

Sunday 10/23/11 Katye and I completed our first 1/2 marathon. We trained together for 12 weeks, and finished in 2 hours 15 min. I set a goal to complete this before Adelaide turns one, and am so happy that its over! Running 13.1 miles is intense and does not make me want to run 26.2. Those people are crazy!!

Now, on to the Roseola. Friday afternoon I noticed a little rash staring on Adelaide's face. In the evening at bath time it was all over, so I called the pedi who said to watch it and take her in the following day if it looked worse. Saturday we took her into the local Zoomcare office. The doctor there was really nice, but ruled out roseola and didn't make me feel any better after telling me she takes her kids to the emergency room all the time! Sunday afternoon she still had it so I planned to take her in Monday to the pedi's office, where the doctor walked right in, looked at her naked body, and said it WAS for sure Roseola. She also said that she believes that her vomiting on Monday was probably due to the virus and to try bananas again. We did yesterday and she was perfectly fine!! I am over the moon about this. I was panicking about where to go from the last reaction, but feel confident that we can continue trying new things since she has been reaction free for 4 1/2 months. It's crazy to be thankful for two visits to the doctor, $40 in co-pays, a rash all over her sweet perfect skin, but I am. The girl loves bananas and now she can keep on loving them. Happy Day!!

Bad news...

yesterdays post was premature. Adelaide had her first reaction in over 4 months yesterday afternoon. Poor girl threw up 6 times after having a banana, something she has been having for 6 months. I am not really sure where to go next with food for her. It makes me terribly sad :-(

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we ventured to Lake View Farms for our first family pumpkin patch adventure. It was a beautiful day and Addie was very happy looking around. We didn't end up getting any pumpkins (Smith will be getting us some from the ranch), but we did get some awesome photos.

I cannot believe how much of a person Adelaide is becoming. She understands a ton of things we say, and loves her dog more than anything! It honestly makes my heart hurt watching the two of them together. She has also been trying new foods with success! I am hoping we can get to a place where she eats the same things we are eating in the next few months. In the last week she has had cheese and Happy Baby Banana Puffs without any issues. I am one happy mama!!
